Since I’ve had my own apartment, interior design has always been a passion of mine. Here are some tips and tricks to help you step up your home decor game.

1. Bright walls and natural light:
I personally think the bedroom should well-light and airy. To do so, do not cover your windows with heavy blinds and let in as much natural light as you can. I also suggest painting your walls with lighter, neutral shades (whites, off-whites, beige, light greys) for the simple reason that white walls reflect more light. Furthermore, they are the perfect, clean and simple canvas you need to start decorating you room. Similar to walls, keep your furniture within the same colour palette if you can. It’ll allow you to add statement pieces and change up the style of the room without purchasing a new costly bed or sofa, making your space instantly timeless.

A large full length mirror is a great way to add depth to a room and instantly make it look bigger than it actually is. It also reflects light and will make any space look brighter and more spacious.

3. Fur / Rugs:
Fur instantaneously makes a room feel cozier and more comfortable. It is a great way to add texture and warmth. Weather you use sheepskin, a patterned wool rug or (my personal favourite) cow-skin it elevates the space and really anchors a room. But don’t think this trend is only meant to be used on your floors. Fur chairs or pillows are definitely some of my favourite statement pieces.

4. Add texture:
Using different textures like wood, molding on a plain white wall, marble or velvet will add dimension to your home. So play around with different materials and don’t be afraid to mix and match! Opposites tend to balance each other out in this situation.
5. Use metal accents:
One of the best ways to ensure a a timeless decor is to add a touch of gold or silver. It’ll give your house a modern appeal. Whether you use gold accessories or a full on metal table, it automatically makes anything look chic.
Hope this inspires you to create your own beautiful spaces!
