How to Look Taller in Photos

You guys asked for it, so here it is!

I’ve come to realize that many of my readers are surprised to learn my height. Believe it or not, I’m actually 5 feet and 2 inches (2 very important inches). However, throughout the years, I’ve learned some tricks that can help you gain a few inches in seconds! So if you want to find out how to look taller and leaner in all your photos, just keep scrolling.

1 – Shoot from a lower angle

This is probably my #1 tip and the most important one out of this entire blog post. Having your photographer shoot from a lower angle (preferably below your waist and angled upwards) can make such a difference and instantly adds a few inches to your height.

2 – Extend your legs

Posing plays a huge role as well. When facing your photographer, try to extend your legs by taking long strides or simply placing one leg in front of the other. The closer an object is to the lens, the bigger it’ll appear. Therefore, extending your leg forward, will immediately make it look a mile long.

3 – Crop the picture

The editing of the picture is not to be forgotten. Try cropping the image right below your feet and above your head. You will really fill the frame and also avoid having any objects giving away your proportions.

4 – High Waisted Pants

Posing is important, but styling is important as well. Having high waisted jeans, like the ones I’m wearing in this post, elongates your legs and makes them longer. A pair of high waisted trousers or skirt would also work just as well.

5 – Stand on your tippy toes

It seems silly but it’s true. This will help make you appear thinner and leaner. No gym required.

6 – Heels or Platforms

And last but definitely not least is probably the most obvious and straightforward tip of all. Heels, or in my case platforms, are lifesavers for all of us petite girls… in pictures and in real life!
