Lazy Girl Guide to a Clean Home

c1 (1 of 1)c2 (1 of 1) c3 (1 of 1) c4 (1 of 1) c5 (1 of 1)

So as promised, I want to start introducing a lot more lifestyle content on my blog this year. That is why, today, we are talking about how to keep your home a clean and orderly environment. If you are a neat freak like me, it can sometimes get quite stressful and challenging to keep your house looking clean and polished. However, with these little tips, keeping your space organized, even when your life isn’t, will become so much easier!

Tip #1: Keep your counters clear

Doing this step alone will give the appearance of a much more visually pleasing and cleaner space. Nothing gives a more disorderly feel than a cluttered surface. That is why I recommend putting away everything you can in drawers, cabinets, etc., which brings us to our next tip…

Tip #2: Put things back where they belong

Having a specific space for everything in your home will make it a lot easier to keep everything organized. When coming home, instead of simply throwing your coat on the chair (you know… THE chair), hang it directly on a hanger and put it in place. It’ll avoid having to put things away twice and make cleaning a lot more manageable.

Tip #3: Clean as you go

When cooking, don’t just let the dishes pile up. Cleaning as you’re preparing the food will save you so much time and also allow you to eat your food in a clean kitchen once your meal is ready. Same thing applies when doing your hair, makeup, etc. It’ll keep the mess from getting out of hand.

Tip #4: Make your bed every morning

This is a practice that I live by! I truly believe in the principle of starting your day by making your bed every. single. morning. I personally can not start my morning off on the right foot if my bed isn’t made. Not to mention, it keeps your room looking fresh and polished.

Tip #5: Clean your dishes every night

If you’ve ever timed yourself filling up or emptying a dishwasher, it truly only takes about 5 minutes. Fill it up after dinner at night and empty it while the coffee brews in the morning. It’ll keep dirty dishes from piling up in the sink, which in my opinion, is one of the worst mess to have in your home.

And there you have it loves! I personally live by every single one of these tips and apply them daily to my life. Hopefully they can help/inspire you guys to have a more clutter-free and organized home. As they say, a tidy space is a tidy mind.

xoxo

You’ve hit it right on the head. Cleaning as you go is important. I’m not a fan of taking an entire day to clean up messes I’ve made. I rather just take a second to put something back where it belongs. x

My lazy girl hack to a clean room is to have someone or something else do the cleaning haha. I load up the dishes every night and let the dishwasher clean them for me. I have a robot vacuum, and I hire someone to deep clean the carpet once a year so I never have to clean the floors. There are a lot of great tools we have nowadays to make keeping a clean home easier!

Love your blog! Your house looks so cute. Do you have carpets? If so, any tips on keeping them clean? I’m trying to decide how often I should vacuum, and also how often I should have them professionally cleaned.

    Thank you love!
I clean my carpets once or twice a week seeing as I have a very fluffy cat who leaves hair everywhere.

Yes, I have a robot vacuum as well, but I feel like it doesn’t do a good job and I still need to go over it myself unfortunately 🙁
