My Vichy Experience

Let me start by saying I am not a beauty expert by any means, but I am however a beauty enthusiast. So obviously, I was extremely excited when I received a lovely package from Vichy, full of amazing products that I want to share with you guys today. I was introduced to Vichy from a very young age. Everyone, from my mom to my aunt, was using their products and they have always been a brand that I loved and respected. Consequently, I was delighted to see they released several new products and have since been testing them out in order to give you guys a proper review.

My skin type is very dry and it can also get quite dull during winter. Therefore, I am constantly on the hunt for hydrating beauty products that will help me achieve that oh-so-coveted glowy complexion. So naturally, the first face mask I was drawn to was the Vichy Quenching Mineral Mask. This product is described as a hydrating mask enriched with Vitamin B3. It is enhanced with hydrating glycerin to provide instant moisture and mineralized thermal water to sooth the skin. My first impression of this mask was the incredible cooling effect provided by the gel consistency. It feels extremely fresh and amazing when you put it on. However, when I would rinse off the mask, I didn’t notice any difference in my skin, even after several uses. Like mentioned previously, I have very dry skin and I feel like this mask wasn’t hydrating enough for my skin type. Therefore, I was a bit disappointed in the product. However, it did sooth and refresh my skin and for that reason I wouldn’t necessary dismiss it. I think this would be a wonderful product for anyone who has oily to combination skin. But for me, it wasn’t enough to quench my very dry skin.

Next up, I tested the Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask, which is formulated to do exactly what its name suggests. This product contains a chemical exfoliator (AHA) as well as a physical exfoliator (microbeads made from volcanic rock) to help sweep away dead cells and boost your skin’s natural glow. The mask’s consistency is the same as the Quenching Mineral one, seeing as they are both gel based. After using this mask, I noticed the exfoliants left a healthy looking rosy hue on my cheeks. My skin instantly felt smooth, clean, and vibrant. I was very pleased with this mask and will definitely continue to use it. The only drawback in this product is it could perhaps irritate someone who has very sensitive skin seeing as it has two exfoliating ingredients. Nonetheless, I would recommend it for any other skin types.

The last in this Vichy Mineral Face Mask trio is the Vichy Pore Purifying Clay Mask. This product is developed to eliminate excess sebum and impurities for purified pores and softer skin. Seeing as my skin is very dehydrated, I tend to stay away from any sort of clay mask, since most of them dry out my skin. However, I have to say this product pleasantly amazed me. It surprisingly didn’t make my skin any drier, on the contrary, my skin felt soft and clean after every use. When reading the description of the product, I quickly understood why. The clay mask is combined with “Aloe Vera extracts to hydrate and sooth skin and Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water to help strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier”. Perfect for any skin type, but I especially see anyone who has combination skin really loving this product.

I am a huge fan of micellar water. It’s my favorite way to remove stubborn eye makeup without irritating my skin and I use them up so quickly. So of course, I was very excited to receive the Vichy Pureté Thermale 3-In-1 One Step Micellar Water, because your girl can never have too many bottles of micellar water! My favorite one is the famous Bioderma Sensibio H2O and after trying one from Garnier (which didn’t measure up) I was a bit skeptical to use other brands. But once again, I was pleasantly surprised by Vichy. This product was the first micellar water I tested that worked just as well as the one from Bioderma. It effectively removed all my makeup and left my skin feeling clean and smooth; such a good product for anyone with sensitive skin.

The last product I received was the Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water. This face mist is made to “reduce redness and soothe irritations and discomfort, while improving the quality of skin and reinforcing the skin’s natural defense against external factors and premature aging”. Now I don’t know about any of these claims, but it is a very nice and refreshing spray. I really don’t have much to say about this face spray except for the fact that it is a great product to have in your beach bag during summer.

Overall, I am really impressed with all the Vichy products I received, but if I had to choose favorites, it would be the Double Glow Peel Mask and the Pureté Thermale Micellar Water. They both worked incredibly well considering their retail value.

As I aged, I experienced severe changes to my skins elasticity and moisture retention ability. It literally decreased in a matter of days as I got a major flu type illness. My regular skin care regiment was no longer effective. I need help immediately. I discovered Vichy products…and they literally saved my skin.
