NYC with H&M

This month, I had the amazing opportunity to fly to New York and experience my first NYFW. It was so exciting and overall completely surreal. I attended my very first fashion show, met some fascinating people and got to view (and style!) the new H&M Studio Collection S/S 2018 before it even launched.

The new collection was introduced just yesterday at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs during Paris Fashion Week, continuing in its see-now-buy-now format. H&M Studio S/S 2018 is themed around Japan’s minimalistic design and features clean silhouettes, in both womenswear and menswear, with a relaxed vibe and essence of workwear influence. Including flowing full-length dresses in head-to-toe prints and bright colors in the form of alluring patterns (which the knit featured in this post perfectly embodies), the new womenswear collection is truly eye-catching. It focuses on utilitarian tailoring thanks to its easy tunics and statement knits, which I am completely obsessed with!

I am usually not one that gravitates towards color, but the vivid sweater I am styling in this post truly is perfection. From its fabric, to its functionality, I can already tell it will stay in my closet for years to come. And can we talk about the trousers? Granted, the dark green one badly needs to be hemmed (#shortgirlproblems), but the pleated fabric flows so perfectly that I thought I would let it drape down for the purpose of the shoot.

Overall, I was very impressed by the structure of the garments, not to mention the high-quality fabrics that were used.  What are your thoughts on the new collection?
